Woking’s own Billy Liberator, solo artist and frontman of his band The Orbiteers, his songs bring empathy and compassion in a songwriting style compared to The Men They Couldn’t Hang and Billy Bragg. A long term contributor to the local music scene and further afield, in recent years, Billy has drawn inspiration from time spent in the remotest parts of the UK as well as artists such as The Alarm, Tom Petty, John Mark McMillan, Charlie Fink, Ha Ha Tonka and The Waterboys.
He has been supporting The Alarm, The Outcast Band among many other luminaries. 2020 saw the release of his first EP since the 1990s – the upbeat and lyrically personal EP, ‘Your Heart Wears It Well’. Produced by Steve ‘Smiley’ Barnard (The Alarm/Archive/Joe Strummer)
Liam Dylan is a country singer-songwriter whose vocal style is reminiscent of the golden era of country singers. His voice carries a warmth and authenticity that harks back to the classic country singers of the past. His song’s feature heartfelt lyrics rich with emotional depth, allowing listeners to connect with the feelings and experiences he describes. Whether it’s the sorrow of a lost love or the hope for a better future, Liam Dylan’s voice and songs will linger on long after the chairs are put away and the lights are turned out. Liam featured at our Americana Festival in 2024 to a great response.
Elaine McGinty & Joe Buckley
Vocalist & bass player with darkly poetic post punk band Phoenix Chroi who released two albums – Songs From The Last Five Years (2015) was immediately requested by the British Library as an important cultural contribution to national music, and Humanity Lands, released 2017. They appear at gigs and festivals around the country and her written work has been published in several anthologies as well as two pamphlets including ‘Public Money’ so often requested at gigs and festivals resonating with so many facing the consequences of decisions made by those in power.
