First of our 2025 Lovely Music Nights presenting the best in original music on the grassroots scene brings you – The Invisible Hats, The Beelines, Rats, Rats, Rats!

The Invisible Hats are a songwriting project made up primarily by Geoff Allnutt lyrics and Jamie West music & vocals, plus a number of loose collaborators attempting to build a songwriting factory out of a small studio in rural West Sussex.

They don’t believe in genres and think that songwriters should write in whatever style feels right for the song. Influenced by a diverse group of artists and songs , and their own very opinionated ideas of what makes a great song.

Rarely performing live they will occasionally venture out if tempted by venues with a real love of songwriting or very large amounts of cash

Their first Album The Disappearing Act was released in 2022 on Irregular Records they are currently recording the follow up.

Rats! Rats! Rats! are a punk grunge two piece from Gosport.
Formed in 2022, Andy Hawxwell (guitar/vocals) and Rich Oakes (drums/backing vocals) play fast and loud.

They have completed 2 headline tours of England and supported punk legends Snuff and ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock.

Their debut album “Bloody Hello” is due for release in Spring 2025.

The Beelines formed in 2019 and with shared classic punk and mod influences as a starting point their sound has broadened and developed from there.

Their songs are lyric driven, full of characters, big themes and melancholic reflections with hooks to stick in your head.

With lockdown out of the way they began gigging in 2021 and regularly play gigs and festivals across the south and London. Venues have included The Dublin Castle, Half Moon and Amersham Arms in London, The Fleece in Bristol, Tunbridge Wells Fringe Festival, Haselmere Fringe Festival and Guilfest and local venues including The Boileroom, The Star and Suburbs at The Holroyd. They have supported a number of well-known bands including The Vapors, the Chords, Sham 69, Chris Difford (Squeeze) and London Calling.

Their engaging and energetic performances have led to reviews that include “Pop Punk Modernists”, “fabulously eclectic mix of edgy songs”, “Great set, with hooky songs”,” guitary pop with a late 70’s punky edge “and “the blistering beelines”

Four releases, “Do I look Ill?”, “You’re not Listening”, “This is a Secret” and “Raise a Glass” have been well received and played on local and internet radio stations. This is a Secret also featured on national television. In June this year they released their first completely DIY album Straight Up.
